Prime95 Test Results

Hello guys,

I just finished a 12hr Blend Test on Prime95 for my i5-2500k @4.40GHz
The results after roughly 1140 tests on each thread showed: 0 errors and 0 warning but my temperatures were maxing out at about 75degreesC according to HW Monitor.

Is this a safe/stable Overclock?

Note
- When playing games it usually sits in the high 40s/low 50s
- I plan on purchasing an addition fan this week anyway

Thanks,
Conor

yeah. you're alright with a SB up to about 90C... it's hot but not dangerously hot. Frankly that's a good temp

I'd be a little concerned that your system vents air so poorly your cpu continues to get hotter after a 12hour burn on prime. generally speaking after 10-15 minutes on prime your cpu/mb/ram should be within 1C to 3C of the max it temps you'll see 12 hours later. (if your system is venting air properly anyway)

I ran it overnight when I went to bed - woke up about an hour in for a drink and temps were around 72C, highest they got was 75C so I guess that is suggestion fairly adequate ventilation?

yeah... it sounds alright.

the way you worded the first post implied a slightly more linear temp increase. whats the mb temps? are they significantly higher then ambient?

Mid/High 30s so yeah, a fair bit above ambient

mid 30s is fine. no airflow issues. temps look good. nothing to worry about there. :wahoo:
