Hi! So I want to buy a nice budget gaming cpu-motherboard for around 150 euros 200 max for both of them.

From what my friends told me, intel is better than amd on the terms.. and I would like some people to gave me their opinion on what should I buy.

I'm building a new pc, and my graphics card is going to be an AMD Radeon HD 7850, and i would like to now which cpu-motherboard combo would better fit it, in quality and price terms.

Btw, I don't know a lot of PC's stuff.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157250, This uses a z68 chipset which will enable you to overlock if you wish to do so. I'm also aware it has 3 pci e x16 slots, so if you wish to do crossfire or SLI, you can.

Regards,

Kieran

And the cpu? My first thought was to buy the amd fx-6300, but then people start saying, that amd wasn't the best option on a cpu .. and if i go with that motherboard i will probably not have money to buy a good cpu... No matter what, thank you very much Kieran.

I would recommend an intel core i5 2500k or a 2400k, because that motherboard is an overclockable chipset.

No problem,

Then go with an i3 2120, they usually only cost £80 or something, and just so you know, it wouldn't bottleneck the 7850.

Kieran :)

In fact I would go for an AMD FX 6300.
Mainly because it is a 6 core CPU, ready for overclocking and AM3 + socket will be bringing out more CPU's for sale.

the i3 2120 socket line is dead which means no more releases which means there is going to be a limit for processing power.

I'm sorry to say but the i3 2120 does still beat the 6300, but the 6300 s more future proof. (Plus it is only 90 bucks!)

So go with the AMD FX 6300.

Kieran

I would recommend the i5 3470.

It is just better than the others and it is a quad core so you will see the difference with no bottlenecking.

I outperforms the rest of you're options and it is Ivy Bridge so you will need an ivy bridge motherboard.

Kieran

Pick any CPU and motherboard you like for AMD here: http://www.microcenter.com/site/products/amd_bundles.aspx
The 8320 with the first motherboard OR the 6300 with any motherboard will fit in your budget.

Pick any CPU and motherboard you like for INTEL here:http://www.microcenter.com/site/brands/intel-processor-bundles.aspx
The i3 is the only one that fit in your budget :(
