Hyper 212 Evo Additional Fan

Hello guys,

Does anyone know what stock fan the CM Hyper 212 Evo uses? I want to add an additional fan in push/pull to lower my temps by a few degrees but have OCD with this kind of thing so will need another identical fan :p

Does anyone know the fan model? Or of any better fans I could use?

Thanks,
Conor

Hi Conor,

Well the fan in question is called: Blade Master 120mm (R4-BMBS-20PK-R0). Although the one used on the Hyper Evo is the smoked or transparent version, but it's the same fan.

I know because I currently use the 212 Evo and I looked at buying a second CM fan for mine. The problem is, like me, you're from the UK, and well I tried "everywhere" to get one of these fans but I couldn't find them anywhere. The only...

Im also using the CM 212 Evo, I upgraded my fans to Corsairs SP120 HP fans and works great on my FX-6300 OC to 4.8GHz, But others are also saying that Noctua has a better fan (NF F12) that has better air movement, Some people dislike them for that brown color it will give to certain coolers, But then that's up to the user to decide!!!!

Hi Conor,

I know because I currently use the 212 Evo and I looked at buying a second CM fan for mine. The problem is, like me, you're from the UK, and well I tried "everywhere" to get one of these fans but I couldn't find them anywhere. The only place I could find them was on sites in the US which isn't really a viable option as the postage would be 5 times the price of the fan!

In the end I went with 2 of Corsair's SP120 High Pressure PWM, they look great and I would say they are slightly quieter as well. But to be honest the only improvement was the look, my temps didn't drop at all, nothing noticeable I'm afraid. And I tried reseating the cooler about half dozen times, trying different TIM's (Thermal Pastes) and different ways of applying it, but still no improvement, except the cool look =)

Hope this helps, and hey if you decide to go for it and you manage to get one I hope you have better luck than me mate :)

Cheers for that mate :)
Ordered three of those veey fans last night! (my current case fan is rather naff) hopefully I'll see some improvement, my temps are apparently already fairly low for my OC speed but I'll enjoy the peace of mind of knowing I have top notch airflow :)

Correction, the fan for the Hyper 212 Evo is called the XtraFlo 120mm, the Blade Master is for the Hyper 212 Plus and there is a difference in performance there. The max cfm rating on the Blade master is 76.8 cfm as to where the XtraFlo 120mm is 82.9 cfm.

Tests have been done with the EVO 212, and well, an additional fan on it doesn't do much. In fact, in some cases the performance is even worse. Pull configuration with a single fan works best. Highest difference between one or two fans was less than one degree C. So.. Yeah.

I have a friend who has experienced otherwise, he gets a few degrees lower now that he has push and pull. Regardless I personally want to switch out the fan that comes with the Hyper 212 Evo and every fan in my case for that matter with the Noctua NF-S12B redux-1200.
