I have one simple questions. Currently, I have a AMD A8-5600k Quad-Core 3.6GHZ CPU. I want to upgrade, because it's bottlenecking my entire computer. So my simple question is:

Which processor is better for gaming?
The Intel Core i5-3570k 3.4GHZ Quad-Core
or
The AMD FX-8350 Vishera 4.0GHZ Eight-Core

Those are the two I am considering upgrading to. Any response would be helpful.

i think you should go with the 3570k as it performs slightly better in most games and also it ables you for an upgrade!

I'm kind of new to this whole computer building thing. Why exactly is a CPU that has less GHZ (3.6GHZ) and less cores (4 rather than 8) better. I'm not questioning you, but I need an explanation, it's confusing me :p

They are VERY similar in gaming performance. Since the I5 is cheaper and uses less power for that nice performance. Get it.

The i5 is $234.99 and the FX is $199.99 at my local Canada Computers store. What are your sources?
