Hi,

I have an Asrock P67 Extream6. And 4x2G ADATA Gaming RAM 1600-9.9.9.24
It was ok for about 2 years and recently I notices that my Windows only use 4G of ram. In Bios also it said 4G available.
In CPU-Z's SPD page however everything is Ok and it can find all 4 modules. Also in it's Memory tab I can see that it said I have 8G of ram.

Recently I added a Samsung 840Pro and number of USB gadgets. Also I updated my bios to latest version. I also tried to use 4.2Ghz overclock profile in main-board that didn't worked as I remember and I cleared the CMOD using switch in back of the case. So I am currently at stock speed with no OC.
I am not sure if any of above is the reason for the problem.

Any way, I am here and asking help from expers. Does any one knows reason of the problem and how can I fix it?

And yes, I tested all slots and modules alone. They are fine. But as soon as I add 3th module one of them will disappear from Bios's installed modules list.

Thanks a lot.

Actually I did number of times. And I did just now too. No diffrence.

It cant recognize Modules in Slot A1 and B1. (white ones)

Also I just find out that I cant overclock my system. I can change CPU Ratio to 37 (at max) and it still dont go more than 34 (and sometime 35) in loads. Asrock software even shows CPU ratio as 33.
My CPU is I5 2500K and It is funny that motherboard don't let me go more than 37 in first place. Am I forgot something?

It is 685W and unfortunately I cant check voltage of CMOD battery because I don't have multimeter here. Yet it holds other settings and date. What could cmos battery cause except not holding settings?

Okay, that thread covers pretty much everything I would have gone through. As far as the CMOS battery, although I have not seen this except on pre-built systems - I have seen very strange and unexplainable things happen (on pre-builts) when the battery gets low while still holding the clock and settings. I still can't understand why...

Thank C12Friedman for all your help I really appreciate it.

Yet it seems that this is a problem with Asrock new Bios updates which adds Ivy Bridge support to boards. And specially when used with i5 2500k.

And there is no way to fix it AFAIK.

I ended up trying to find a place to buy BIOS Chip with version 2.10 on it instead of 2.19. I need to check local provider first to see if they can give me one.

It is a shame that Asrock forgot to solve this problem even now. They must try to release new bios update.
