I recently bought a new XFX Core Edition Radeon HD 7870, and so far I've been unable to get it to recognize a monitor plugged into the bottom DVI port on my machine. My system specs are as follows:
Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.130318-1533)
BIOS: Default System BIOS
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 930 @ 2.80GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.8GHz Motherboard: ASRock X58 Extreme LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard Power supply: Ultra LSP750 750-Watt Power Supply
I've updated my drivers (to 12.104.0.0) and have attempted to detect the second monitor in windows and in the Catalyst control center. I've also been able to rule out the following:
Monitors/cords: Both monitors work just fine when plugged into the first DVI port, and I can run a dual display on my other card just fine (a Radeon HD 5770). DVI ports: I don't think it's a problem with these, as a tech support guy at work was able to throw my card into a computer there and have it detect 2 monitors just fine.
I would appreciate any help with this, as I've run out of things to troubleshoot with my basic grasp of PC hardware.
