I'm looking for a new gaming headset. I currently have the Turtle Beach Earforce X11 headset. The reason I'd like a new one is because I'm looking for better sound quality and comfort. I've been looking at the Corsair Vengeance 2000 headset and I've seen some reviews and the mic quality sounds great! However, I'm wondering about the sound quality. Because it's wireless, is any of the sound quality compromised? I'm looking for heavy bass because I'm a gamer and a dubstep fan, but I'd like the mid and high frequencies to be clear as well. Does anyone recommend this headset or another one?

took me a little while to get used to them as my old sennheisers didnt wrap round the ears

would have to say...
i have the vengeance 1500

basically the same but not wireless

yes the bass is pretty good and the mid and high frequencies also

and if you crank it up they are loud

only thing is they are usb so cant use them on other devices

i would say my old sennheisers were better for music but the corsairs are better for gaming

Would you describe the bass as overpowering or tight and punchy?

i wouldnt say it was overpowering but its not lacking either

i tend to manually adjust the equalizer to get the sound i prefer

Alright, one last question: How would you describe the comfort/discomfort of the headset?

took me a little while to get used to them as my old sennheisers didnt wrap round the ears

would have to say i find them pretty comfortable--even when wearing glasses--some headphones cause the legs of

glasses to be pushed into the back of the ears causing discomfort --these dont

I ended up getting the Vengeance 2000s and I have experienced the distortion you're talking about. However, I've found that if I turn the volume down for the source of the audio and turn the headset's volume up, I can achieve a desirable volume level with no distortion. For example, with Spotify, I'll set its volume to about 25-40% and just turn the headset volume up. Then I can have the heavy bass I like, but without distortion.
