The hard drive is gimping that system hardcore like a fly on some glue but the rest seems ok. The CPU is also aimed at power savings and you have integrated graphics - just as long you don't plan on any 3D gaming and if you do expect to use the lowest settings... an SSD upgrade can almost always be done.

EDIT: You can only purchase 99,995 per customer so how unfortunate

I plan on upgrading to a 500gb SSD within 6 months or so. Also, regarding the CPU, will it be fast enough to not frustrate me as I use it for 6+ hours a day for school work? As well as it being my main entertainment device for movies and streaming?

I have worked with the CPU before and it seems to be pretty responsive - it only have 4 cores compared to 8 but that shouldn't be an issue for the next few years if you really don't have any gaming or 3D applications

It is an ultrabook type CPU in a non-ultrabook laptop. But it probably brings the price down a bit. I would think it would be sufficient for school.

Since you use it for 6+ hours I am just going to assume you have it unplugged from the power for extended periods and this CPU will help you stay disconnected longer.

Just checked and it seems that is the best bang for your buck, being aware that it is refurbished, it seems if you want to pay more all you really get is a bigger HDD but typically 500 GB is pretty good and you will upgrade in the future anyways. (Keep an eye out for those Samsaung 840 500GB drives - the pros are nicer but the regular 840 is great and it goes on sale like once a month lol)

Use this site to find deals on your SSD: http://www.dealitem.com/Search.aspx?q=MZ-7TD500BW&x=75&y=16

I used this and it found my 840 Pro for $187 and got it that night before it was sold out the next morning.

Just enter the model number in the search

Happy searching
