Hi,
I have a Lenovo W530 that is loaded with one Hynix 4MB DIMM: "4GB 2rx8 pc3-12800s-11-11-f3".
I understand from posts such as http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/327619-30-what-frequeny that this is 11ns CAS latency.
There are three spare DIMM slots, and I wish to install another 8-12 GB.
Questions:
1. Will I see an improvement by installing either faster RAM or RAM with lower latency?
2. Do I need to install the RAM in any particular configuration to take advantage of additional RAM?
3. Will it matter if I have an 'odd' number of slots filled (eg an additional 2x4GB which gives me flexibility to add an 1x8 GB later if I need it).
Many thanks,
Darren
