I am going to reinstall XP that is part of a dual boot with Windows 7 on a second HD.
I have a new hard drive to put XP on.
Is there a way to install XP and not have to reinstall Windows 7 since they are both on separate drives, and currently working fine.

Not sure these days years ago there where programs which allow you to have many os on a single drive if your running more then one drive you go into the bios and choose what drive to boot and disable the other. as for me I partion the drive off and made it a dual boot after awhile you will choose one over the other which os you want .Xp expires 2014 with no support from Microsoft and win 7 is the cream of the crop if you ask me win 8 is ok after you work on it and make it act like win 7. Yes I have a dual boot 7 and 8 on one of my pc,s and 9 times out of 10 I boot into 7... Hope this helps good luck

I was hoping I could just copy some of the boot files from the XP drive, then install XP on the new drive, copy back the boot files(backup'd),
then I wouldn't have to reinstall Windows 7 on the second drive.
