How Bandwidth increase the speed?

I am confused between 660ti and 670. 670 is out of my budget but there is only one difference and that is Max Bandwidth. How Bandwidth or u can say Memory interface increase the FPS?

Higher bandwidth allows information to be fed into the GPU at a faster pace.
Not having enough bandwidth will starve your GPU of information and cause overall performance to drop, sometimes significantly.
As many of nVidia's current designs are quite bandwidth constrained already, this loss of memory bandwidth between the GTX 660Ti and GTX 670 leads to a drop in performance of about 12%.
