The laptop with the problem, is a hp laptop, running windows xp professional. Recently, ive been in an area without internet acess, but when i went back to my house, one of my laptops refused to search the internet, although, i said it was connected (despite the fact that it had been working before) I thought it was probably some update that had been installed while i was away, and so uninstalled windows service pack 3, but that didn't seem to help. The weird thing was that my other computer is also running windows xp, and it seems perfectly fine. I've been all over the internet finding solutions. At first it said that it was connected, although the signal was either very low or not working, then i tried typing in the ip adress manually, which some-one else suggested to another person who was having a similar problem. This made it look like it was connected with the signal being perfectly fine, however, neither firefox nor google chrome would work(internet explorer seems to be corrupted or something, wont' even start). I looked at the ip config /all and this is what came up.

hopefully that means something to some-one i don't understand most of it. I tried pinging google and it came up with ping request could not find host www.google.com. Pinging an ip adress, came up with packets sent 4 packets lost 4 which didn't seem terribly hopeful. I really hope some-one could help me with this, I don't have the windows xp cd, so i don't think i can reboot everything
