I bought an asus x101ch 10.1 net-book with a broken screen thinking I could just buy a new screen and fix it. I bought: Laptop LCD Screen 10.1-inch WideScreen (8.74"x4.92") WSVGA (1024x600) Glossy LED compatible with ASUS EEE PC X101H / 3 Years warranty. 1pc. @ $39.99 from laptopscreen.com. When I replaced the screen It worked. but I noticed whenever I plug the net-book into the charger the screen lights up brighter than the highest screen setting. It begins to get really hot and the bottom of the screen begins to turn black and it works it way up the screen over time. Does anyone know what this could be? thanks!

The numbers didn't match but it said it was compatible so I just went with it. I made thee biggest mistake by guessing it would work and throwing out the old screen before charging the new laptop so I don't have the number anymore... never going to do that again lol. The inverter is attached to the screen and was curious if it might be that. but it very well could be the wrong screen.

If it was just the brightness changing, you could try checking the power profiles from the Control Panel options. However, seeing as how it heats up and eventually powers off, it might be the screen. I would contact laptopscreen.com to see if you can get a replacement. I would give one more a try, just in case this one is defective.
