Extremely slow Diablo 3 installation

I just got my new gaming PC today and I am trying to install Diablo 3, but the installation is so slow it would take at least 30 hours to finish.

I waited 15 minutes for the installation bar to say it was at 0.1% completion.

Obviously something is VERY wrong, I installed the game just fine on my other computer. Please help me out!

Are you talking about installing the client? Or downloading the game?

If it is slow, it is probably your internet connection. After the game client installs it has to download ~12GB of game files (source: That is size of my Diablo III folder).

Pause the install and do a speedtest at speedtest.net

Whats your spec and try some other stuff to see if everything else seems OK. Are you installing from disk?

I am installing from disk, and I have a Core i7 3770K with 16GB of RAM and twin SLI GTX 680's and a 1TB 7200RPM 64MB cache SATAIII HDD.

My system is so powerful, it could probably run several instances of Diablo 3 simultaneously.

It could be a faulty DVD drive if everything else seems OK. Did you install Windows OK from a disk and how long did it take? Have you installed anything else? Try installing a free to play game from steam and see if that goes OK.
