I'm having a problem with my computer right now. You see, I keep getting the BSOD and I remember it's the code STOP: 0x0000001E. I'm able to get to the desktop with the start menu and stuff, but it goes to the BSOD at that point.
During the longest point that I got to stay logged on before the BSOD, I heard audio in the background that sounded like some advertisements going on even though I didn't have a Internet browser on at the time. I looked at the sound mixer and I think it was called Host Process for Windows Services. I wasn't sure if that was the cause, so I followed the instructions of this video I found, but it didn't work.
Another problem is that it takes much longer than usual to get to the Windows Loading Screen, the Windows login screen and the desktop. The last time I tried to start Windows is that it just went to the BSOD before it got to the desktop.
My computer was working fine before all of this happened, so could this be a hardware issue rather than a software issue? Could it be some of the RAM had gone bad, or could it be that malaware is slowing down the computer?
Also, do you think my computer would be able to work in Safe Mode to fix the problem?
