Dear all . I am really confused which laptop should i buy . My uses are mostly office work , some editing softwares like photoshop and moderate gaming like GTA 4.
After a lot of research i shortlisted this laptop.

http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/samsung-samsung-series-3-15-6-laptop-silver-amd-a10-4600m-750gb-hdd-8gb-ram-windows-8-np355v5c-a03ca/10225727.aspx

Can you tell me that is it worth for the price. Secondly could i get something better at this price. Another option was to buy an i5 cpu but no i5 cpu had a graphic card other than intel .

Secondly i also have my fears about Samsung brand as samsung is new in the laptop market. Should i buy it or do you recommend something else.

Your help is highly appreciated.

Best regards...

pretty good price; though it's got a disappointing monitor... and the hard drive will really bottleneck everything badly. its still a solid price. A friend of mine got a similar laptop with a little less ram (6gb) for $499 (hp envy dv7)

you make sacrifices for the price. that's a high end APU~ so they'll make some sacrifices around it to make the price enticing. that said, at those resolutions you'll have no problem playing pretty much any game you want.

Thanks for the answer. I have been comparing different CPUs on CPUboss.com and to my disappointment . The A10 doesnot even compete with the second generation intel i5s.

Dont you think u should buy an i5 pc instead of this one. And what about samsungs quality ??

no comments about the samsung quality.

as for the "power" of the apu, i can only tell you what i've seen from using it. It's basically indistinguishable from a high end i7 in 99% of daily tasks. It's quick, responsive and snappy. So much so that hard drive on my buddy's laptop was such a hindrance he ended up getting an SSD, which really sped everything up.

I suspect the Hd was bottle-necking the i7 just as badly as the a10, cause with the SSD the A10 suddenly seemed like it was the superior chip in EVERY situation.

My main point is unless you're doing video editing or some heavy industrial number crunching, you'll never know you got the a10 instead of the i7/i5... no, that's not true. The A10 also got about 3 more hours on battery then the best I've ever seen an i7 laptop get.

7~ish hours of battery life under hard core gaming with a standard laptop battery is some impressive power use.

dual graphics doesn't really work well enough to suggest you get it.
