power supply does not have enough juice?

hey guys i have a gtx 660 SC and modded the bios voltage to 1187 with a stable clock of 1202 ran heaven for hours until now i have added a 12 vlt led strip and at the same clock i get lockups like heaven just stops puts be back to desktop(no driver crashing) and then i can move my mouse but can't click on anything until i alt control delete so ya guys whats cuazing this problem oh and i hvae a corsair cx500 with 3 led fan 1 simple fan and a hyper 212 and 1 led strip so is it my psu? i have a fx 6300
 
It's possible you have exceeded your power limits. Especially if the FX CPU is overclocked, as they are very power hungry.

It's also possible that you did something else while installing your LED strip.

Return everything to default clocks and unplug the strip. If everything works fine, add one thing at a time until you figure it out.

it sounds like he did something while installing the LED strip... even with a OC on both his CPU and GPU to the limits of air cooling, it really shouldn't go over 350-375w of power draw....
 
There are some differences in the various Corsair CX500 models as I recall.

Yes, the older ones are only rated for 34 amps on the 12V rail.... 408W.

That's not to say the problem is the PSU. I'm just making the point that it's within the realm of possibility. I agree that the system is not likely to actually need 34 amps, unless something is wrong.
