Hey guys,

I am looking for a low profile, 21-23inch monitor to use as my home office main display. It has to have a very low profile (including stand), to fit on a small desk, and must have VGA, DVI inputs.

I definitely want a higher quality display, so price is not that big of a factor.

Thanks

You want IPS panel.

This ASUS MX239H for $230 can be considered to be a low profile monitor. It is very slim and has very thin bezel. But mind you, because of the slimness, it use external power brick. So you to take good care of it.

But, if 23" is too big for you, this HP Pavilion 22xi for $170 will do the job. It's also has similar design to the ASUS.

Thanks guys, I think I should definitely get IPS, as this would be my main monitor for 10-12hr workdays!

That Asus looks good. Who is AOC? Never heard of them, do they have decent quality?

Another question, if I get 21", would 1080P be too much? with very tiny text?

For reference, my 14" laptop is 1600*900 and I am fine with it. I did some search for 16x10 displays, but looks like all newer IPS ones are 16:9!

Well, 1080p at 21" is good enough. But, for me, 23" is the sweet spot, for me. Well, you can get 16:10 IPS monitor, but it's absurdly expensive. But, right now, I don't see any IPS monitor with 16:10 ratio any lower than 24".
