Is this normal and safe?

After doing some routine cleaning and replacing my GPU - I noticed that there was something weird on my BIOS chips (pics below). My PC is less than a year old and taken care of.. it also runs just as well as it did the day it was made.

My motherboard is a Gigabyte B75M-D3H and I have never used the dual BIOS feature or flashed my BIOS.

Could anyone tell me what that is and if it's safe? After all, my system is running fine currently. Thanks!

I can boot into BIOS and edit values as normal, without any problems. My PC is 7 or 8 months old.

Does look a bit odd, it looks as though the two marks are circular. They are both on pin one so wondering if it there was some kind of marker on there to indicate the pin and it has ran.

Just had a look at my bios chips on my Gigabyte Z68X-UD3-B3 motherboard and they also have marks on them, I may be able to get pics later if needed. PC is about a year old now and functions normally.

I have done a fair share of overclocking and in an effort to keep temps down, undervolting which meant that I got lots of crashes whilst testing each voltage. Also I had to flash back to the F13 Bios from a UEFI one, which isn't meant to be possible.

Thank you, I am slightly more relaxed haha. I'll be looking forward to those pictures. Perhaps this is intended by Gigabyte - although why bother writing on the chips then? Anyhow.. to respond to the previous poster, yes they are circular and ever-so-slightly indented.. the silver you see is the metal underneath the thin layer of paint in which those circular markings are hidden under. This thread is not dead and I am still looking for more info.. anything at this point is appreciated.. thanks again TH community!
