So today I just bought a stick of 1gb DDR ram for my computer. After I install it, there was no video output. When I took it out, the video come back. What happening? Did I buy a bad stick of ram? My mobo is from a HP Pavilion a730n. It has four DDR slots and before I replaced the ram I had two sticks of patriot psd1g400 1gb 3200 DDR ram, 1 Hynix pc2700u-25330 512mb DDR 333mhz ram and 1 stick of Samsung pc3200u-30331 256mb DDR ram. I replaced the 256mb module with a corsair valueselect vs1gb400c3 1gb DDR stick of ram. Anything helps. Thanks.

Yeah they weren't all matching before and it worked fine. I replaced the Samsung with the corsair to upgrade.

Hello,

# - Remove all the installed memory modules ( 2 x 1GB Patriot, 1 x 512MB Hynix, 1 x 256MB Samsung)
# - Install the 1GB Corsair module alone in the memory slots (Occasionally try with other slots but make sure three other slots are empty).
#- See if it boots or any error messages turns up or any beep tones.
#- If it works alone and not together then upgrading BIOS might be a good choice and maybe it can fix the issue.
#- If it doesn't work even after the BIOS upgrade then the memory might be defective.

If you need any more memory then try here!

Thanks
