Intel Core Sandy Bridge i7 2600k Overclock Help!

Hey guys,
I need help overclocking my intel core sandy bridge i7 2600k. I cant seem to find any threads or links regarding my cpu and motherboard. I dont understand what to change in the bios.
I have the Gigabyte GA z77-hd4 motherboard and I need help guys! I just need to know what settings to change in the bios such as voltage etc?

Pretty decent guide on the UEFI/overclocking for gigabyte. (they all got the same uefi bios)

Ignore his thing about setting voltage on auto. that frequently over volts it...


and what CPU cooler are you using? or is it the stock cooler?

Hmm....

I would say that you can overclock to around 4.3-4.4ghz... but it's gonna require a good bit of tweaking.....

You can do 4.2 ghz really easily though.... all you have to do is change the cpu multiplier/ratio to 42 in the bios and keep stock voltage and it should be stable as a rock lol.

Like I watched the video. So all i do is change the cpu ratio to 42? then what else do i change?

pretty much.... that would be a very safe overclock for your processor (from my experience at least)

I would still suggest you run prime95 for about an hour or two just to stress test the CPU in case the specific cpu isn't that great of a quality.
