today i bought he BenQ XL2420T however i feel like i impulsively bought it and could have done better

first up we have
Auria EQ276W 27-Inch IPS LED Monitor
http://www.microcenter.com/product/384780/EQ276W_27-Inc...

This one is nice because it is IPS and is also capable of 2560x1440 another plus is it has a 5MS response time which from what i have see looks like it is decent for larger IPS display (27")

ASUS VG248QE
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Reasons i looked at this one is it seems like it can do the same thing as the one i just spent 400$ on and it is almost 150$ cheaper

i am a noob when it comes to these thing but a few thing to know i am a hardcore WoW player i do like FPS but i wouldn't say i'm competitive

yah sorry about that second link not working =/

But i narrowed down my descision to two monitors

1: Auria EQ276W 27-Inch IPS LED Monitor
http://www.microcenter.com/product/384780/EQ276W_27-Inc
(This is the same monitor that was linked in my first post)

2: Dell UltraSharp U2312HM IPS Monitor
http://www.microcenter.com/product/409472/UltraSharp_U2312HM_IPS_Monitor

The thing is if i went with the Dell's Ultimately i would have like to do three of them standing vertically however i do not think my GPU would be able to keep up with that. So once you tack on the cost of the monitors, another HD7970, and a bigger power supply i am well over a 1000$. Which is personally why i am leaning more towards getting the Auria and using it as a main display for gaming and hooking up my old monitor next to it and having it there for browsing reasons. Unless someone can convince that just having one Dell UltraSharp U2312HM is going to be way better than having the Auria EQ276W

Hope this makes sense to everyone it does in my mind lol =]

While that monitor is fine too, you actually ought to be looking at

120Hz monitors if you're really wanting much more cutting edge gaming monitors.

You'll be able to get higher FPS in games too. ASUS has some good ones.

Although they might be a lot over your budget, but I don't know.

sorry for the late response i actually bought a BenQ 120Hz gaming monitor which cost a little over 400$ after taxes. Although it was nice and felt very smooth i felt like 120Hz is a waste correct me if i'm wrong but that smoothness you do feel seems like you would get even from a monitor at 75Hz. which i can probably achieve if i can overclock the 60Hz. It is almost the same as FPS if you can get a game up to 110 FPS that is awesome but the difference you feel from lets say 110 FPS to 80 FPS is it even noticeable can the human eye even recognize that?

@X79 sorry but i misunderstood what you mean by "probably not really" are you saying that what i said about noticing the difference between 75-80Hz to 120Hz is correct or that i'm wrong and you can easily tell the difference ?

I apologize for the sloppyness on my part.

I'm agreeing with you, that it's probable that you most likely can't observe

a very big difference between the two. Not unless you're sitting and actually using it, but that's

more like feeling it.

I went and bought one of those Auria monitors 4 months ago. It's great for CAD/CAM and MMO's, but not for FPS.
The issue *I* have with it, is that 27" is just too large. I play MUCH MUCH better with a smaller display (21", same refresh), because I don't have to move my eyes as much. It's essentially the same principle that I experienced years ago with Quake; a 15" worked better for me than 17"+.
