This summer Im getting 250$, I have my rig fully built, radeon 7870, i5 3570k, so on and I currently play on a 1440x900p monitor which for gaming is great but I always find game details insufficent and space on the monitor limited by its size so I plan to spend 150$ on a monitor and 100$ on a headset(If you could give some good recommendations on some good 100$ headsets for music and games that would be great as well!) and I have not really narrowed anything down because of just how many monitors there are in that price range. I want a monitor with really crisp quality to really bring detail out of games and just look nice. I would like it to be around 125-150 if possible! Thanks a ton in advance, and if it would be better to just spend 200-250$ on a monitor but I dont really see any advantages unless you spend 500-700$ for 1440p and so on. P.S. A 1080p monitor please haha.

That's the best one I know that will fit the budget. There are headsets that are not as good for cheaper if you want to lower the budget. But unless you're planning to go over the budget, I don't know any other ones that will contend with the Skullcandy Slyr. Have you tried the headset before? You don't like it?

Ive been looking at these http://www.razerzone.com/store/razer-kraken-pro , I know razer is usually pretty good for gaming. Skull candy Ive tried before not too much of a fan.

Have you tried the Slyr headset ones? They're far different from your average Skullcandy headphones. The Razer Kraken Pro is terrible at gaming and music listening. The have terrible highs and mids. Their bass is way too powerful that sometimes you may have issues hearing your teammates speak. They can also produce an annoying humming sound when near a some static components or with any interferences in frequencies. For gaming, it may be okay. For music listening, it's a nightmare. For $80, I rather buy a pair of good quality Sennheiser headphones. At least I get great sound quality minus the microphone. But you can buy a clip-on microphone.
