Okay so Im getting back into computer building and its been long overdue. Right now money is tight and I plan on buying 2 or 3 parts every paycheck until I can have the rig up and running.

So to begin with, I plan on getting either the CoolerMaster 912 or 922 case or possibly the Corsair 200r Carbide. Not sure yet its a toss up on whether I want a window or not in the case etc, as well as aesthetics.

Now the bigger Dilemma is the PSU, I used to swear by CoolerMaster PSUs but Ive been noticing they have been getting a bad rap lately judging by the newegg reviews. What I am looking for is a reasonably priced reliable PSU tier 2 or so I guess to power a rig that will most likely consist of a i5-3570k (or haswell equivalent), a 7950 radeon or a 670gtx nvidia, a bluray drive and not much else. Rig is primarily for gaming, watching movies, listening to music, and school work, not necessarily in that order :ange:

So Im finished rambling, what do you guys recommend for a good quality psu that wont run me to much dough? Im trying to keep the price of the rig right around $1k.

Cooler Master PSUs are a mixed bag. Some of the high wattage units are pretty decent, but a lot of the low-mid PSUs are lousy. They have a new series coming out made by SeaSonic, so hopefully they're getting their crap together on the PSU front.

Both of ksham's recommendations are excellent. The XFX is a SeaSonic and the Corsair is a Channel Well, which are two of the best manufacturer's around.
