The G2010 is a better CPU and it will also give you an upgrade path later if you want it. The LGA775 is a weaker CPU and the upgrade path is more restricted. The socket 1155 would obviously need a new Mobo

the 2010 is more powerful. In modern games, L3 cache plays a rather important role and the 2010 has it but 5800 does not. You can see upto 15-20% performance gain from L3 cache alone. Tranzz has already pointed out the upgrade path benefit.

The only downside of this is that you will have to buy a new mobo.
