My config
i3-2120 + h61 asus motherboard
corsair carbide 400r cabinet
msi r6850 cyclone GPU
3 harddisks(1 ssd ocz 128gb, 1 laptop hdd WD 500gb, 1 desktop hdd seagate 1tb)
2 4gb ram (1 transcend and 1 kingston)

using this setup for almost 1 year
upgraded to latest bios version

This problem started a week ago
The DVI port on external gpu stopped giving output
but the Pc was booting.
connected to the IGPU dvi port and it was working

the pc is working perfect only without external graphics(typing using this PC)
removed Motherboard screws and mounted everything outside the case and GPU worked(played for 4-5 hours game)
put it back in Cabinet without screwing mobo screws, It still worked
As soon as i screwed it in with all parts in place, no output from external gpu

My guess is there is some insulating problem or short between screws of mobo and cabinet.
Has any one faced such an issue.........

All components work stable when outside case

More about : video output gpu inside case igpu works properly inside

Have you tried removing the IO backplate and trying it?

Removing the IO backplate worked.....
what was the reason??
i thought that the backplate was just a piece of cosmetic for stopping dust from getting inside the cabinet
(will post back after some use)

Well it is metal, if its bent and touching the motherboard etc, it can cause issues. You still want to get a new backplate to prevent dust etc tho. its important.
