Hey guys wasn't sure if this was this was right place to post this but maybe someone can help me.

My current Rig is in my SIG. I have been having "slow" boot times with this SSD for a few months now and cannot figure out the culprit. It's not extremely slow by any means but it takes about 35-40 seconds to boot into windows if I start the timer right after bios post beginning at the GUI screen. Since I am using a "Vertex 3" SATA 3 SSD on a Gigabyte Z68XP-UD4 along with some RipJaws @ 7-8-7-24 1600 I would consider these "slow" boot times.

I have tried EVERYTHING I can think of to resolve these problems. I do have a seperate 1TB Seagate SATA 2 HDD connected to one of the Marvel controllers on the board but during troubleshooting I don't believe this to be the problem. I will list what I have done so far and hopefully someone can throw me a bone to figure this out.

1) Ensured "TRIM" support was enabled.
2) Disable "PageFile"
3) Updated GFX drivers and used Driver Cleaner pro to wipe away old drivers
4) Ensured all Sound. Onboard GFX, and other misc drivers have been updated
5) Ensured all windows updates have been installed
6) Confirmed SSD is working properly within windows. AS SSD and AASO all report my SSD is operating at manufacturer claimed speeds. W7 Experience Index scores my SSD @ 7.9. SSD life reports SSD is in "100% Excellent health" with over 8 more years of operation time.

7)Event Viewer shows no Critical errors. THere was a few Warning reports of "Graphics subsystem overutilization" during boot; but those went away after updating GFX drivers. However boot times have not improved.

8) Insured "AHCI" mode was enabled
9)Insured SATA cable was sitting on main SATA 6 port of Intel chipset
10) Made sure "Quick Boot" was enabled in Bios
11)Disabled "C3/C6 states in Bios"
12) Attempted several "clean boot's"
13) Disconnected HDD and DVD rom drives with no improvement.

At this point I'm not really sure what else I can do. A soon as the desktop appears I am able to start launching programs immediately with no slowdown. There is no slowdown anywhere in Windows; everything is lightning fast.

Tried a different PSU with a lower wattage?

I noticed it's a very large wattage for such a build and I thought that perhaps

power isn't being delivered very well, considering PSUs work best at or near 80% load.

The PSU has to convert the AC power from the wall to DC power for your rig.

So maybe this isn't happening very well and thus things slow down. Just a thought.

Not saying it should be heavy-lifting just booting though.

I haven't but the memory passes MemTest with flying colors and no error after 36 hours of prime Blend Test. Maybe I'll give that a try.
