SLI with two different cards

Hi,

I currently have a Asus Nvidia GTX 560ti 2GB factory overclocked to 900mhz, im now looking to add a second card for sli, a second hand Gainward Nvidia GeForce Phantom GTX 560 Ti has come up for sale, is it possible to run sli with these cards?

As long as they're both the SAME CARD, which you have, you can mix and match brands and models all you like. Just know that the faster card will downclock to match the slower one.

Yep, as long as they are both 560Ti's your good to go.

Thanks for the quick reply the gainwood is clocked at 822mhz so guessing they would both run at this speed. is it possible to OC the gainwood to 900 too? have no experience in OC graphics cards.

Both cards will need to be clocked to the same speeds for stability reasons, so my advice is just to set them both to stock speeds and then overclock both in tandem.

Heres a good tutorial on how to overclock, the hardware is a bit older but its still the same programs and method involved. MSI Afterburner also allows you to overclock both cards simultaneously when set up in SLI.
