i have 8gb corsair vengeance . its frequency is 1600 mhz. and some timing stuff for this is 10 -10 -10- 27( dont knw much about this ).

i changed my ram slot to 3rd slot from 1st slot because i installed a hyper 212 evo and i dont want my ram to be soo close to it by fixing ram in 1st slot so moved it to 3rd slot n then my ram frequencies shows as

8.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (4-5-5-15).

do u think the changing of ram slot matters ?? or its just some software issue ?? bcos in bios i set everything to AUTO . the software iam getting these readings are speccy. ..

help me out thank you i advance for ur valuable time and patience in answering my questions

yeah it is hitting the cooler . it is one 8 GB ram iam using hyper 212 evo. the shop guy says that the cooler model cant be fixed vertically so he fixed it horizontally and so 2 slots of ram are blocked cant use 2 slots . and 2 more slots can be used in which 1 is blue and 1 is black. i placed the ram in 3rd slot now. previously wen i dint install cooler it was in 1st slot n before i post this in this site ram was in 4th slot .

on the ram it is said as corsair vengeance 1600 MHz. 10-10-10-27 8GB .and in system bios also it shows as 1600MHz as current memory frequency but in speccy software and CPU-Z software it shows as 800MHz is maximum bandwidth

according to my motherboard manul abt memory configurations :

you may install varying memory sizes in channal A and channel B. the system maps the total size of the lower- sized channel for a dual- channel configuration. any excess memory from the higher -sized channel is then mapped for single -channel operation.

we recommend that you install the memory modules from the blue slots for better overclocking capability..

my ram in placed in 3rd slot n it is blue in color too .
