I have a Galaxy gtx 670 with the 680 pcb
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

The card comes OC at 1006 mhz and when i do a minor overclock to 1086 which is 1mhz above the boost clock, every game i play freezes.

Ik it is not the temps because with no OC i max out at 68C and with a OC i max out at abot 69C, so it is not the temperature.

Does anyone else have/had these problems? do you have any suggestions to fix this problem?

I can not OC my gfx card past 1086mhz or every game freezes. so should i just continue to use it with a very weak overclock or should i try to return it and get a new one

Thanks!

Can you adjust the voltage on that board? If so, try it with another 0.05v

If not, then adjust the overclock back a bit.

its deff voltage related, what program are you using to overclock? if its the Asus tool ive had a lot of problems with that tool, causing my games to freeze and direct x crashing etc. if you are try msi afterburner and adjust your fan curve as well.

also the reference gtx 670 the gpu is 915 and boost is about 980 so you should be able to just up quite a bit more.

And if you can't raise the voltage, well, then you can't overclock. Unless you flash a custom bios, which will void your warranty.

your getting up there in temps, i wouldnt go much farther without bumping up the fan speed more

ik its a little high but when i got the card it had a stock temp when under load of 76C with 50% fan speed but i will probably turn up the fan speed to like 70% and i have a back up fan i will put on the side of my case to blow cold air on it, so it should go way down
