I have a belkin 750db router. It gave me all sorts of issues when i first got it (random disconnects, connection problems) but after a few FW upgrades, it seemed to work fine.
I have had it for about a year and within the past week i've noticed a lot of random disconnects from Xbox live. Also, downloads on the xbox are incredibly slow all of a sudden. Switching from wired to wireless helped for some reason, but its still slower than it used to be. My ps3 and pc work fine and are super fast, its just the xbox and I cant figure out why.
I plugged the xbox directly into my cable modem and it downloaded fast, but once i hooked it up to the router, it went back to being slow.
We had a bad storm the other day and it tripped a few breakers in our home. Since then, the router has gone back to giving me problems like disconnects and has a problem reconnecting. The xbox issue was prior to the storm.
I have no clue as I've tried everything i can think of like upgrading the FW and opening ports, putting the xbox on DMZ....nothing helped. At this point, i'm thinking of just buying a new router but if anyone has any ideas that could save me some cash, I'd appreciate it.
