If your doing more then gaming, fine. The FX isn't a bad choice. If your gaming, go Intel. I'm sure others will tell you why.

Partially, i'm obviously going to do more than gaming but gaming is the main planned use

I am not understanding your 12GB of ram. Stick with 2 sticks and go with 1866 8GB or 16GB kit. Also, the on-board sound is sufficient enough that you will see no discernible difference in sound quality going with the dedicated sound card.

Ah, that is a great build. I realize now how bad that my build was set up, thank you

Bad form there, NoSupport. Asking questions is how one learns. All this stuff is quite overwhelming, and to top it off, there are no clear single answers.

Your missing the point here, part of the reason this forum exists is to help people with questions and to assist with computer building. Not everyone knows how to build a computer and not everyone is familiar with all the parts that are available.
If you have no wish to help people with questions then possibly this forum is not for you.
