I'm trying to overclock my Galaxy GTX 670 4gb GC, however once I have my OC profile applied, and go do a burn test, Furmark crashes on average 66% through the benchmark. The less I OC, the longer it takes for Furmark to crash. Once crashed, all my OC profiles are reset to default.
The same crash happens in Unigine Heaven 4.0 with all settings maxed (DX11)

The error message is windowed and says:
"The NVIDIA OpenGL driver lost connection with the display driver due to exceeding Windows Time-Out limit and is unable to continue.
The application must close.

Error code: 7
Would you like to visit

With a Windows Update Notification Window pop up in the bottom right vorner of my screen reading:
"Display Driver Stopped Responding and has Recovered
Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 320.18 stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

Driver version (Nvidia) 320.18
EVGA Precision X 4.2
Furmark 1.10.6
Java Version 7 Update 21
Unigine Heaven 4.0
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

I already tried going into the registry and making a new QWORD key with a value of 8 (titled "TdrDelay"), and cleaned up and updated all my drivers using the free version of Driver Fusion.

Specs:
Galaxy GTX 670 4gb GC
i7 3770k @3.5 (3.9 Turbo)
16GB (2x8GB) G.Skill Ares 1866
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD4H
Coolermaster GX 750w Bronze
WD 2TB 7200rpm
Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO
Silverstone Raven RV03
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

It seems people are having the same problem with Minecraft and mods like Tekkit, could it be Java?

I encountered the same problems initially using older versions of all the applications/drivers (save for Windows).

After crash, at stock clocks, all games, programs and applications function properly.

My GPU, when reset defaults to factory overclock of 1006mhz, but is recognized as 1084mhz in benchmarks.

It sounds like your overclocks are unstable.

It crashes even at a measly 25mhz increase.

So? Overclocking is never guaranteed. You're gonna have to raise the voltage if you want to raise the clocks, and that's assuming your card's voltage is unlocked.

the 6xx series are not strait forward to overclock. you need kepler golden bios tweaker to increase volts and power limit to keep your boost clock up. Also, Nvidia Inspector with custom batch file can be used to ditch the boost clock crap and get more straight forward overclocking. I only use inspector now, its much more stable than other overclocking tools where your boost clock keeps going up and down and causes instability.

Will give it a shot later today, thank you!
