i'm going to be playing games at 1080p and at max settings like crysis, bf3, skyrim and gta 4. is this a good $750 build

amd fx-6300 $120
msi twin frozr iii geforce gtx 660 $215
msi 970a-g46 $75
corsair cx500m $60
crucial ballistix sport 8gb ram $53
wd blue 1tb $66
corsair 200r $51
windows 8 $90
zalman cnps5x cpu cooler $20

(ps i might add a 120gb samsung 840 for another $100 if its worth it....is it worth it?)

That's a fine build, but it won't come close to maxing Crysis 3. Heck, my dual 7970 GHz Editions have trouble with Crysis 3. You should be able to get medium-to-high settings in all of those games, however.

Looks good although I would if you can afford it bump your GPU up to a GTX 660ti or GTX 670.

A 7870 XT would be superior to the Ti and more within reach than the 670.
