I would love to get some thoughts and or suggestions on my new build. I have been buying parts for a bit but now am second guessing myself on the GPU. I have a cousin who has been helping me pick parts and his co-worker is going to build it with me. I will use my system for gaming and video editing for work. Here are my specs:
Intel i7 3770k
Corsair Hydro Series CPU Cooler
ASRock Z77 Extreme4m Mobo
SSD - Don't have this yet
16 GB G Skill Ram
Seagate HD - 3TB
850 w PSU
Cooler Master 922 case
GPU - GeForce GTX 660ti FTW

So I am second guessing my GPU option. I know I want to stay with an Nvidia card for this particular build, I am just wondering if I should consider a better card. Is the card I have with my specs going to give good gaming performance or should I consider exchanging it and going up a card or two? Any card suggestions? Help is appreciated and will be considered. I have a week left to exchange my card.....

For gaming, depends on the resolution you are going to run.

Also, the i7 and 16gigs of ram are only needed for (will only be utilized by) rendering/ CS6. These, over an i5 and 8 gigs of ram will not gain you any performance.

Rex is correct. i7 vs i5 and 8gb vs 16gb makes no difference for PC gaming.

your better off saving the $$$$ and getting an ssd instead or spending a little more on the video card.

High end CAD and video editing work is about the only place you will see the additional CPU & RAM power be utilized. (so it all depends on how much video work you will be doing to justify that difference.)

Thank you so much for the feedback guys. I already have my parts as listed (except for the SSD) so the i7 stays :) . Any thoughts on the GPU choice?

What resolution? I would personally recommend a 670 (or even a 680) for that level of build.

My monitor is an ASUS 24 inch HD with a native resolution of 1920x1080. Thanks Again!

So it is safe to assume a 2gb 670 GTX would offer a significant performance increase over my GTX 660ti 3gb? I am thinking of going with the 670 if so.

the additional VRAM will only be used in resolutions above 1080p, so yes 670 would be my recommendation also.

Thanks to all who took time to read and big thanks to those who answered. I am leaning towards the 670. Now off to find a sale :)
