High GPU Usage 7970

My gpu usage is usually running at 89% at idle, temperature around 60c.
Trying to run any game such as BF 3 or even Chivalry I get a frame rate average of 13-20 on fraps.

I've checked process and can't find anything that would be suspicious or aiding the situation.

AMD a8 3.3ghz processor
Sapphire 7970 3gb GPU
16gb Ram

Windows 7 home 64bit

Possibly a bitcoin mining virus and someones utilizing your GPU remotely.

Usually only gets resolved by a clean install by Windows. Run your Anti-virus software, look for obvuscator specifically.
  2. its your cpu i bet.. the a8 bottlenecks 7850's

Which this is mostly true, it won't utilize his GPU at idle at all...
  4. lol why pair a A8 cpu with a 7970... huge waste of money,

I'd recommend you upgrade your cpu asap.

Also do some virus scans in safe mode as someone else has recommended. Also check your startup programs with msconfig and turn most of it off to test if any of the programs are affecting it.

I really appreciate your advice, scanned and found a bitcoin miner. Card is running a nice 37 degrees and a 0% usage after it's removal.

No problem, a good free anti-virus is Avast by the way. Just make sure to remove any other anti-virus before installing it.
