My motherboard at the moment has PCIE 2.0 but my GPU supports PCIE 3.0. From the articles that I read the difference is not that noticeable.

You could go with this one -> http://us.ncix.com/products/?usaffiliateid=1000031504&sku=76612&vpn=N650-1GD5%2FOC&manufacture=MSI%2FMicroStar&promoid=1393
It's $99 after mail-in rebate.

It is better than my current GPU. 400w minimum is the requirement for the PSU but I am not sure about your PSU since it's generic, its not true rated so it can be 400w or not.

So that's a generic PSU right?
First of all, you need a new PSU if that thing is generic(dangerous)
Second, what is your budget?

I kinda have the same rig as yours (Dual Core,5-year old rig)
What I did was, I bought a new branded PSU(FSP Hexa 500w) then bought a Sapphire 7750 1GB. I was on a tight budget but I made it fit.

I can play medium-high tier games but the problem was my RAM and my CPU.

yessir its a generic PSU

my budget could revolve around <$100 just for a gpu. i will try to find a branded psu but some friends suggested me to get hd 6670 or a gt 630 coz they said the mobo is old so could be the pci's. They, the gpus, also handle just 400w.

But i read thru the net that as long i got a pcie x16 slot it is ok. or is there a complication/problem arising when i get new gpu?

i only play online games like HoN, StarCraft 2 and Dota 2. i'm not a hardcore gamer.

tnx for reading my problem.

so you are still using the p5sd2vm mobo? no complication whatsoever from new gpu? coz i saw from the mobo site that their latest updates were in 2009.

i live in the phl, dunno if they have that gpu here. guess ill start walking exercises now to find that darn gpu.

thnx for the help sir... ill take note of the recommendation esp the psu.
