I have a desktop pc with intel desktop board D865GSA. Existing RAM Specification is: Dynet DNKM5U512B8TE-A4 DDR400 (3)-512 MX8.
I want to add a RAM for 1GB in total I want to make it as 1.5 GB RAM. I would like to know the suitable RAM for the above configuration which is available in the market.

When you went to the Intel website, and looked up the specs on that board, I'll bet it said something like this:
"Two 184-pin DDR SDRAM Dual Inline Memory Module (DIMM) sockets
Support for DDR 400, DDR 333, and DDR 266
Support for up to 2GB of system memory
View supported memory "

No wait, I'll bet it said exactly that.

You can refer the above post for max memory and the number of slots. Your system supports only PC2100 (DDR 266) /2700 (DDR 333) /3200 (DDR 400) Non-ECC memory.

The following is the link for compatible ("suitable") memory -
http://www.memorystock.com/memory/IntelD865GSA.html

You can go with the same speed as the one which is currently in your system that is PC3200 (DDR 400MHz). If you have any more queries regarding the memory please do let me know. Cheers!!
