hi,
i want to buy a decent graphics card to play the latest and upcoming games in medium-high settings and 1900x1200 resolution.. pls suggest me a decent graphics card that can handle lastest games with good fps..

i have a noobish doubt.

i have read somewhere that the ati cards die earlier than nvidia. ( i know the question is stupid)

my budget is rs 7,000 - 10,000 (INR)

As is often the case :( I think AMD cards are great for the price, but I do appreciate the capabilities of Nvidia cards - I just don't appreciate the often fiendish pricing.

I've used both brands in the past, and I think they're pretty much even. Nvidia often pulls out in front with optimization, but AMD offers a superb performance to price ratio :D

I never stated that Nvidia is better, just my preference.

I recently bought a 7950 and am using the 13.5b drivers. I am not having any driver issues whatsoever. The 13.4's were working well too. In fact I'd go so far as to say AMD's drivers right now are pretty damn good *for single cards*. Crossfire still needs work. That's not to say you won't have any driver issues, but Nvidia's drivers aren't perfect either.

Both are constantly updated (New update every 1 - 2 months). I have noticed that Nvidia drivers tend to be more annoying, and sometimes give me BSODs. Both manufacturers are fine.
