Unable to remove write protect

I bought a new external Samsung HDD, 2TB, USB 2.0, 2.5". After some operations e.g. partitioning, formatting, then copying files to the disk, unexpectedly it became write protected. I have tried to remove the write protection:
- using command prompt, diskpart and 'attributes volume clear readonly', it said 'the operation is not supported on removable media'
- change regedit value on writeprotect to 0
- formatting from safe mode with command prompt also fails.

This is like satanic circle. Some online forums suggest formatting the drive to remove the write protect, but formatting always fails because the drive is write protected. Minitool Partition Wizard is also unable to do anything because of the write protection. Even low level format and wipe disk utilities from HDDGuru.com cannot do the task on my disk.

I have tried everything suggested on online forums but fail. What should I do?

Thanks for your attention.

1. Open a Command prompt by clicking Start, typing command, and clicking Command Prompt.

2. Type diskpart and press Enter.

3. Type list volume and press Enter.

4. Type select volume #, where # is the number of the drive that's giving you the "write-protected" error.

5. Type attributes disk clear readonly and press Enter.

6. Type exit and press Enter.
