Hello All,
I recently purchased parts for a new system, in the beginning it was to be a work CAD/3D machine, that I was staying budget oriented on, but my wife surprised me, really surprised me with a Mobile Work Station so the CAD is taken care of. I almost thought about returning the parts but I did get to thinking my older home built machine is at the end of it's life cycle, so why not make a new one.
Here is what I have
i7 3770K
32 gig Crucial Ballistix Tactical Desktop Memory DDR-3
ASRock extreme 4 motherboard
128gig SST Samsung Pro Boot Drive
2TB 7200 Seagate 3.5 drive(s)x2 for raid
coolmaster CPU cooler
Antec 302 case(simple but effective)

I want a card that will work well with this set up for gaming and some 3D CAD, I don't want the card to be a big bottleneck but I can't afford the top of the line high end either on this build, but I want something that will last for awhile even if I have to run next gen games on mid to high but not maxed setting. I'm upgrading from a single core, 4gig memory, BFG 8800GTS, BFG Mobo, 1TB raid system, that actually worked pretty good for along time but she is just not going to handle newer games out now and newer cad software.

I really want a good PSU Certified to match but it doesn't have to be platinum or anything like that just reliable and upgradable to SLI/Crossfire down the road if that is still a technology worth doing in the future.

Thanks in advance!

The corsair AX750 is on the hit list.
Budget I'd say mid grade card, but open to all of it at this point. I can't drop 1000.00usd on a vid card so the high ends are out.

I personally wouldn't go for a corsair PSU just because I believe they tend to be overpriced. The fact is the best psus are probably made by seasonic. I'd go for them, xfx, kingwin, and then corsair personally. As for wattage, if you're only going for a single GPU, you don't need more then a solid gold/platinum 650W IN ANY SCENARIO. Otherwise a 750-850W for dual gpu.

As for the GPU, I'd consider waiting for now. You've got the 770 and 760ti coming out in the coming few weeks/months. Given your budget one of those two might be the card for you, though

I never knew that the corsair power supplies were overpriced, thanks for telling me, hopefully now I can save a few quid on my psu.

I'll check that out too, thanks.
I looked it up and its bit outside of my budget though, however how good are the coolermaster power supplies?
