I've just replaced my GTX 580 with my new GTX 780,
after doing that, the computer is unable to boot or enter the BIOS.

I've already tried remove ALL components USB sata ...
but it still wont boot.

i read that you should try clearing the CMOS, but since i don't have a motherboard jumper, i just tried removing the battery for a couple of minutes. but that didn't help.

if anyone knows what to do here, it would be greatly appreciated :)

It's your definitely your CMOS. A lot of people do it incorrectly the first time. You can get jumpers at FRY's or another computer store. You can even take it from another pin and temporarily use that - just make sure you put it in the correct spot when you put it back.

Even if you have the old drives on there it will still boot up. You will have a windows default driver automatically installed when you first boot so you may notice your resolution will be much lower, etc.. Simply corrected by uninstalling the old driver and installing the new one - but this will still allow your system to boot.

The motherboard that i'm trying to install that graphics card on is a Gigabyte X79-UD3,

about the beeping, it starts out with the normal short beep you get, right when the screen shows, but then after 10-15 seconds it beeps again, and just keps on going like that, beeping every 10 second or so.

I want to restart the CMOS, but i don't have one of those jumpers, nor is there anything on my board i can use to "connect" the pins

and removing the battery for 2 minutes didn't seem to reset it

Yes motherboard is PCIe 3.0 compatible, and i've got a 700w PSU, so that can't be the problem

The battery method doesn't work too well. You have to make sure your 'turn-on' your system with the battery out or flip the power switch. Just removing the battery doesn't do much.

I still think it's your CMOS even with the beeping sounds.

so you believe that resetting the CMOS might solve the problem?
i'm gonna look around on our other computers in the house, to see if their mobos have a jumper, then ill try to reset it and report back :)
