I was thinking about getting the 7870XT intially. But then I have been told more and more to get the 7950. Ok, cool. But then I heard about the 760Ti coming out. Really not sure what to do (June 1st for Nvidia?). Nvidia cards have the never settle, but Nvidia usually beats them in a frame bases (under the same class). What do you guys think?

dont buy a 7950 7870xt is the way to go as the difference in preformence is small and the new cards from nvidia are likely to have a worse price to performance ratio then the 7000 series as all new cards tend to be expensive when they come out

GTX 760 Ti = GTX 670. The GTX 670 performs slightly better than the HD 7950.

Oh god. You made things more complicated. So if a 760Ti performas like a 670...and it's close to a 7950...Then the 7870xt should perform near the same?!:ouch:

Both are true :) The chart only takes into account stock clock speeds.

If the GTX 760 Ti rumored price of $300 holds true, it would be the better buy until AMD drops prices.

You mean a clock bump with faster memory? Is that really an improvement? I say stick with the GTX 670 and overclock it!

Sorry, I forgot to mention it'll also be cheaper than a GTX 670.

you know for some reason I just have a gut feeling that the 760ti will be equal to a stock 680 or at least with in 2%. Right now I beleive a 670 is about 5-10% slower on average at sock speeds to a 680 at stock speeds. I also don't think it will be MSRP of $300 it would be better for nv if it was say $350.

That way they could drop the prices of the 670 to say $300-330 and there still would be a small market for the 680 and 670 giving retailers time to clean out there stock with out having to do massive cuts right off the back. Again that is just my guess though.

Haha sorry but no. the 770 is what you think the 760ti will be. the 770 is out already so benchmarks are there too.
the 670 is not going to drop much in price. Nvidia wants people to buy their new gen not their old. The 680 is already discontinued nvidia doesn't care for that market anymore. the stock will be cleaned out eventually even without lowering the prices.

The 670 can already be overclocked to be within the margin of error of the 680, it isn't all that unfathomable that the 760 Ti will perform close to the 680 based on the reviews of the 770 since the 770 is a overclocked 680 with a better memory controller.
