I can spend up to
$700 on a SINGLE card setup. No multi cards plz.
Will be playing skyrim with HUGE graphic mods.
It needs good cooling so I have room for OC because I'm sure I will need to with the mods ill be getting.

I'm at Ike 1200 x 780 or something within that range. I can make it larger but am on a intel hd 4000 so I'm keeping the res low. And I would like the best I can get for the budget.
I've been saving up for this thing for years lol so now it's time to pay off :)

Single card no brainer it's the 780. If you don't want to pay that much and still have great performance, wait for the 770 to launch. That said it really depends on what resolution you're bumping up to like slomo4sho said. If you're bumping up to 1080p or more then those are the cards to choose from, if you're going to less than that you're bottleneck is your CPU, not GPU and a lower end GPU could be substituted.

Whats your cpu, Ram speed ( and amount) and PSU?
Theres no use getting a powerful card if one of those will bottleneck it.

I'll go a step further. What is your total budget for the upgrades including the new monitor you are picking up and what are your complete system specs?

All those details are in my sig

I5 3570k CPU
8gb of 1600 RAM
750w psu

And I'm not getting a new monitor just upping the resolution on it. Right now the resolution slider is near the bottom that I can set it too.
So would a gtx 780 bottle neck my CPU

Well technically Yes but as even a Titan (Most powerful GPU) wouldn't totally remove the bottleneck your all good.

Sorry, I seldom read signatures.

What is the native resolution of your monitor?

780 is the best single gpu within your budget, but If you go with the 780 I'd recommend upgrading your monitor.

The 780 with a 384 bit memory interface and 3 gigs of vram can push 1600p on max settings easily. I'd say at least get a 27" 1440p monitor.

Green-sum is a great ebay seller. I bought that same monitor from him and I absolutely love it - its got an incredible picture.

Actually after thinking about it for a bit I'm going to revise my recommendation. Either a 780 or a 7970. Given you want to run a lot of mods with skyrim (and presumably other games in the future), you're going to want that 3gb VRAM. THAT SAID, I used to have a 690 and even with over 60-70mods running (most of them graphics enhancements), I didn't hit the VRAM wall. But regardless it's safe to assume with the new console architecture that games are going to be pushing more VRAM for textures and buffer, so you'd probably want a 3GB card.

Thanks! Will go for the 780 gigabyte wind force when it comes out , hopefully soon. Nvidea also has ambient occlusion for skyrim which is a plus.

Only problem is now my CPU is acting up.
Temps are low 40's on idle with a 212 EVO. But that's only one core at ~40 the rest are all low 30's high 20's.

I have reapplied the paste multiple times but that one core never gets below 40ish. I think it's because I'm using the integrated hd 4000 on the CPU and maybe it's near that core?

If available, I'd go with the EVGA 780 with the ACX cooler. It's cooler and quieter than the windforce, plus EVGA's service/warranty support is fantastic. I've got two Titans from EVGA and they've helped me a lot with issues and been awesome about it every time.

He acx cooler is better?
I read avuncular of articles that say the windforce is superior and it prevents card from ever reaching 80C
Just don't have a word on when it comes out.

From what I saw yes, if you'd like to check go to www.guru3d.com and take a look at their reviews for more in detailed information.
