Any way to "switch off" a dedicated Physx card?

I am running an HD 7950, and I am thinking about putting my old GTX 470 in as a dedicated Physx card. My problem is, when I'm not gaming my 7950 is running 100% so I can't deal with the extra heat or power draw of the 470. Is there any way to turn off the physx card when it's not needed? I looked around in my bios for an option to disable my 2nd PCI Express slot, but didn't see anything. Thanks, and all my system specs are in my sig.

The only way would be to physically open your case and remove the card.

Have you looked into Hybrid PhysX lately? It hasn't been supported by any drivers for over the past two years. There might be a way to force it, but definitely do your research if you are hoping to play any of the more recent games.
