Hello,
One of the girls in my office changed the permissions on a folder call "Accounting" in the network and now it’s gone! I know its still there somewhere because my Sage 50 company file is in there and I can still open Sage but I cant find the company file in the Accounting folder. Please help!! We have lost our accounting!!!

Are you a system Administrator? Cause most methods i would suggest would require that level of permission

Yes I am :)

Try this first
1. Click start.
2. Enter the control panel
3 "Appearance and Personalization."
4. Next click "Show hidden files and folders" under Folder Options

How is your computer connected to the server (is the server listed as one of the Network HDDS or are you using another method to gain access)

You need to log onto the server and go into the permissions of the Accounting folder.

Verify the folder is still being shared, and verify that the correct users have permissions to read and write in that folder.
Then check the NTFS permissions, which is the security tab instead of sharing tab.

Let me know how it goes.
