Gtx 690 under performing

Hello everyone first time on this website! I have a small question i have a gigabyte x48 dq6 and an intel core duo cpu e8500 i also have 4 gb of ram i recently purchased a case storm trooper case and a gtx 690 i was wondering how much is the motherboard, proccesor, and ram affecting my gaming. Meaning doe sit need to be upgraded because i feel like im not getting the best performance. I also have an sl 700w power supply.

YOur CPU and RAM is bottlenecking your GTX690 into utter oblivion.

One easy way to tell is use MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision X and monitor the GPUs usage. If it is not near 99%, they are being held back by your CPU.

That would depend on his resolution and the game, though I suspect he does get bottlenecked often.

Would agree the GTX 690 is way over powered compared to the CPU/Motherboard/Ram you have in your system. Even with a better CPU/Motherboard unless you are running games above 1080p or multi-monitor gaming it would still be overpowered at say 1080p. Even with my slower GTX 670 SLI setup running on a single 1080p monitor SLI is not needed. This setup really shows what it can do when I am running games at 5760x1080.
