hi guys recently there was a power outage in my area and I was at school during the outage when I came back home I noticed that there was a power outage. when I turned my computer on I came to the realization that it booted up very slowly I did some tinkering around and ran a memory test with mentest86. on test four and five there were more than 50000 Errors. however my computer was connected to a surge protector so I'm asking you guys how my memory could have been damaged if my computer was connected to a surge protector or is that the result of this test false also I would like to ask if my memory was damaged is there a possibility there any other of my computer parts are damaged. However, after I log in, everything is fine, not slow. This leads me to think that the test results were incorrect buy I'm asking you guys on this one. Thanks for answering my three questions. also if it is my memory that is broken then I would also like to know how to prevent this in the future

As far as I know during the power outage or power surge that will kill the PSU or MB first.
But the RAM could have been damaged too. And most of RAM have the lifetime limited warranty so that you can get replacement from the RAM manufacturer.
I will use the APC UPS (uninterruptible power supply).
