Hi guys. I have just built my own pc but I have a friend who wants to get rid of his old build. He says it's an absolute beast but before I drop $500 I want to know if it's worth it.

I'll only list the stuff that's really inportant like ram gfx card and cpu

It's 3 6990's in Crossfire Those sound old so they probably aren't any good.

Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost)

And 4x8gb DDR3 Corsair RAM.

It has a 1500 watt power supply.

The motherboard is unkown.

Decent enough specification, but you didn't mention what you will be using the system for. Worst case scenario with crossfire issues is to sell the three graphics cards and buy a newer more powerful single card. For $500 its a good buy... RAM is overkill and I doubt you will ever use more than a quarter of that figure

It will be used primarly for gaming and when not gaming bitmining.

Would this be a decent bitmining machine?

If I scrapped the parts how much could I get out of it. (For the parts I've listed)

would think 3 x 6990 would be really good for bitmining

but very power hungry

used 6990 goes for over £200 in the uk

edit--2600k goes for about £100

32gb corsair depending on which corsair about £100

thats £800 without the other parts

and would guess its going to be decent quality psu and motherboard in it
