okay so I use a ps/2 mouse and keyboard for gaming.

problem is my new motherboard only has one ps/2 port.

i have looked into the alternatives as far as converters/adapters.

there seem to be 3 kinds of products available:

simple ps/2 to usb adapter
ps/2 to usb adapter with it running thru.. some kind of small conversion box?
PCI card that adds 2 ps/2 ports

looks like people are constantly complaining about input lag, missed keystrokes, inability to hold down multiple buttons at once, etc.

is there one that anyone has found that doesn't have any of these problems?

if not i'll be getting a new motherboard.

generally newer MoBo's with 1x PS/2 port is meant for using a mechanical keyboard with NKRO, and a USB mouse is used. While it is possible to use a PS/2 mouse on Mobos like this, you're going to want to use a USB mouse if you don't use a USB keyboard.

thanks for the reply

after thinking about it for a while i decided to get another motherboard.

wish all motherboard companies would make their boards with 2 ps/2 though.. there are what 6 or 8 USB ports on a average motherboard, we don't need more in place of ps/2
